The risk of gender-based violence is on the rise.

The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have left more women, girls and gender diverse people in danger of experiencing violence. Calls for police service related to domestic disturbances increased. Shelters and transition houses experienced an increase in crisis calls and demand for services. Tragically, more women and girls were killed by violence in 2020 than in 2019.

You can help make a difference.

By making a gift today, you will enable community services across the country to do their life-saving work. Our Out of Violence program provides grants to community organizations in every region of Canada who prevent and intervene in situations of gender-based violence. They do the complex work necessary to break the cycle of violence in families and communities providing services such as:

Emergency shelter
Housing support
Help to rebuild life after abuse
Sexual Assault and Exploitation Crisis Support
Child Witness to Violence Programs
Healthy Relationship Education for Teens
